Welcome to Impressions Gallery

Impressions Gallery is for everybody and we're free.

We're one of the UK's independent leading venues for photography and we show the best of today's photographers. We've moved from York and have reopened in a purpose-built new building in the heart of Bradford's city centre. Our exhibitions change regularly so there's always something different to see. Be inspired and join in!

Our philosophy

Impressions has a particular interest in nurturing and supporting the work and career development of new emerging artists. We have an impressive track record of success.

Our programme engenders wide public debate and the Gallery is dedicated to promoting the understanding, participation and enjoyment of photography to a wide and diverse audience. Our broad and flourishing education programme provides opportunities for education throughout life, from 5 year olds to over 65’s.

What we do

Impressions stages, on average, six exhibitions per year.
The gallery initiates at least one new body of work per year.
Our exhibitions tour both nationally and internationally.
Publications are regularly produced to complement and extend our exhibitions.
We run a diverse education and events programme.
We recently launched imPRINT a new series of limited edition original prints by exhibiting photographers made on occasion of an exhibition or publication at Impressions.
