Commissions Launch - Arts of Place: City Park

The Studio, Thursday 7 October 2010, 5.30pm to 7.30pm

Join us for a reception to celebrate the official launch of the the public artworks commissioned through The Arts of Place programme.

Inspired by the City Park, the artworks by six local artists explore the unique identity of Bradford, revealing stories and histories of people and place. The commissioned artworks will be presented in and around Centenary Square from 7 to 15 October 2010.

The five commissions, ranging from films, projections, live research, performance and a sound installation will be launched by Cluny MacPherson, Regional Director for Arts Council Yorkshire on 7 October 2010 in the Studio at Impressions Gallery.

The six artists commissioned are Shanaz Gulzar and Steve Manthorp (ADEPT), Lucy Bergman, Simon Warner, Larna Campbell and Jack Lockhart, to find out more about their projects go to, click here to download a flyer (pdf 112kb)  or view the video above.

The launch event follows Creativity and Regeneration in a New Economy, the national conference featuring multidisciplinary experts from the arts, culture and regeneration taking place earlier in the day at the National Media Museum.
