Archive Connections with Joy Gregory

Come along and discover connections between Joy Gregory’s contemporary work and rarely seen original photographs from the National Media Museum's Archive.
 



Join us at Insight (The National Media Museum Collections & Research Centre) for the special opportunity to view original photographs from the museum’s archive and explore their significance in relation to Joy Gregory’s work. Works on display will include rarely seen early images by Anna Atkins, Eugène Atget and William Henry Fox Talbot. During the event Gregory will be leading a discussion about the selected photographs and why they are important to her.

After Archive Connections you can also attend the launch of Joy Gregory’s new book Translating Place at Impressions Gallery at 6.00pm. There will be a book signing and refreshments will be provided.

Translating Place
explores Gregory’s stay in Sri Lanka as an artist in residence in 2004 and is edited by Anne McNeill. It also contains  texts by Joy Gregory and Rohini Malik Okon.
