Redeye Presents: Hothouse Bradford

Saturday 8 February 2014, 10.30am to 4.30pm

Hothouse Bradford is an exciting day of photography, showcasing creative talent and a hive of photographic activity and information, delivered by Redeye in association with Impressions Gallery.

Throughout the day there will be short presentations from photographers about their projects as well as the opportunity to look through other photographic portfolios, and photography books.

If you have a project or body of work you would like to talk about (whether it’s complete or a work in progress) we would love to hear from you. For details on how to apply read the further information below, or click here to visit Redeye’s website.
There will also be a chance to feed back on opportunities for photographers in Yorkshire and discuss areas of support. It is intended that these feedback sessions will include representatives from Yorkshire Photography Network, Redeye and Impressions.

The event is free and everyone is welcome – you just need to register via the Redeye website.

Further information

How to apply to present your work

Redeye is seeking photographers who can give short, ten to fifteen minute presentations about their work. These can either be a single project, series or connected body of work, and the slots are open to photographers from all fields – fine art, photojournalism, landscape, portrait, documentary, social, commercial, experimental – anything! If you are interested in presenting your work, please send up to 12 jpeg images (no bigger than 5MB in total), along with a few sentences about yourself and your work, to adam@redeye.org.uk by 17 January 2014.

We aim to include as many presentations as we can, successful applicants will be contacted by 28 January 2014.

Who should come on the day

Whether you have a passion for new photography, want to find out about some exciting emerging photographers, or would like the opportunity to meet and network with photographers, enthusiasts and industry professionals, this event aims to have something for everyone.

Showing your book or portfolio

There are two options for showing your book or portfolio. There's an open table on which you can leave your published or self-published book for others to browse. While there will be Redeye staff nearby, the table is not permanently staffed and so we advise you not to leave unique books or anything of significant value. The other option is to be on hand to talk to visitors about your book or portfolio. We will provide a limited number of tables for this purpose. Spaces at these tables are first come, first served. The doors will open at 10:00. If you would like to bring a portfolio, please email Adam Lee at adam@redeye.org.uk ahead of the day.

Venue and Timing

Hothouse Bradford will take place from 10:30-16:30 on 8 February 2014 at Impressions Gallery. You are welcome to come for the whole day or drop in at any time. The full programme of talks will be announced on the Redeye website by 1 February 2014.

Attendance

The event is free to attend but you must pre-register. It is also possible to make a donation at the time of registering to support future Redeye events. Please view Redeye’s terms and conditions before registering – by registering you accept these. Note that there will be some photographing and recording of this event.
