Thursday 1 May 2014, 12.30pm to 1.30pm
Join us at Impressions Gallery for an informal lunchtime tour of our exhibition Thirteen by George Chakravarthi.
Richard MacSween, lecturer in Shakespeare at the University of Bradford, will be discussing themes of Thirteen and the rich imagery used in Shakespeare’s texts.
Evoking death, drama and identity, George Chakravarthi re-imagines thirteen Shakespearean characters who meet their ends through suicide. Thirteen is a series of powerful self-portraits presented as light boxes. Coinciding with the 450th anniversary of Shakespeare’s birth, this is the first time Thirteen will be shown outside the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford-Upon-Avon. Come along and take part in a relaxed discussion to inspire and inform your point of view.
Free event, no booking required.
