Archive Connections with Stephen Vaughan

Wednesday 19 March, 2pm to 4pm

Come along and discover connections between epic 19th Century photographic explorations and a contemporary study by photographer Stephen Vaughan of some of the youngest and rawest of the earth’s surfaces.

This is the first collaboration between the National Media Museum’s Photography Collection and Impressions Gallery. These events held within Insight (The Collections & Research Centre) are special opportunities to view original photographs from the museum’s archive and to explore their significance in relation to Vaughan’s new work.

On Wednesday 19 March, 2pm to 4pm the event will begin at Impressions Gallery with a special introduction by Stephen Vaughan to his exhibition Ultima Thule, continuing with an additional viewing at Insight.

This event is FREE but places are limited - to book for the event on Wednesday 19 March call Impressions Gallery on 0845 0515 882 or email

Stephen Vaughan’s stunning large-scale landscape photographs are currently being shown at Impressions Gallery in the exhibition Ultima Thule, until 13 April 2008.
