Time for Tea

Friday 6 May 2016, 11.30am to 1.30pm

Join us for free tea and cake, and enjoy a friendly, social morning in our gallery overlooking City Park.

At 12.30pm there will be a short talk about our exhibition Passion by Maud Sulter. Passion presents the multi-layered work of Maud Sulter (1960—2008), a photographic artist, poet, and curator of Scottish-Ghanaian descent. She believed passionately in the longstanding historical links between Europe and Africa, aiming ‘to put black women back in the centre of the frame’. Her inventive and multi-layered images and collages explore the forgotten histories of black women, from a mysterious African American sculptor to the French Creole muse of poet Baudelaire.

Time for Tea is our free regular event for over 55s, everyone is welcome.
