Artist Talk with Mahtab Hussain

Saturday 3 March 2018, 2.00pm to 3.00pm

Hear Mahtab Hussain discuss the photographs in You Get Me? and join in the Q&A session afterwards.

In You Get Me? Mahtab Hussain asks, ‘What does it mean to be a British Muslim male today?’. Made over a nine-year period, Hussain’s portraits of young working-class British Asian men and boys present a collective picture on how these individuals negotiate masculinity, self-esteem, social identity and religion in a multi-cultural society.

Stay with us after the talk for our Artist Reception with Mahtab Hussain, where you can meet the artist, enjoy refreshments and have the chance to buy a signed copy of Mahtab Hussain’s accompanying book published by MACK.
