Feed Your Mind

Thursday 7 June 2018, 12.30pm to 1.30pm

Join us for an insight into the life and work of Jane Austen, inspired by Alejandra Carles-Tolra’s work enabled by the Jerwood/Photoworks Awards.

In her series Where We Belong, Alejandra Carles-Tolra photographs a community of ‘Janeites’ who celebrate Jane Austen’s work, dressing up in Regency period clothing and performing activities to keep the novelist’s words alive.

Marilyn Joice from the Jane Austen Society will lead an introduction to Jane Austen, discussing the author’s life and family as well as her famous works and the anecdotes attached to them.

Free event, no booking required

This event is part of our Feed Your Mind programme of talks supported by The Paul Mellon Centre for Studies in British Art.

The Jerwood/Photoworks Awards are a collaboration between Jerwood Charitable Foundation and Photoworks, supported by Arts Council England.
