Reboot Your Practice with Noel Bowler

27 July 2018, 10.00am to 4.30pm

Meet internationally-exhibited photographer Noel Bowler, get expert guidance and take your practice to the next level at this specialist event for photographers.

This not-to-be-missed event takes place at Impressions Gallery and The Bradford Club, a hidden gem and historic institution usually open to members only.

Noel’s work has been exhibited worldwide including New York Photofestival; Remainders Stronghold Gallery, Tokyo; Paris Photo; Gallery of Photography Ireland; Les Rencontres d’Arles, France; The Design Museum, London; and Dali International Photography Festival in China. His hardback monograph Union was published by prestigious German photobook publishers Kehrer Verlag, and he is currently working on a new body of work with The New York Times and The Washington Post. Noel is an experienced lecturer in photography.

This event is recommended for serious photographers at all levels. As well as offering an opportunity to meet a successful professional photographer and Impressions curatorial team, this focused all-day event offers:

•    Advice on planning and researching long term projects
•    A discussion of challenges, advice and solutions
•    Practical tips on how to fund photographic projects
•    Guidance on getting your work seen and published

•    Critical feedback on your work from Noel and the Impressions Gallery curatorial team

•    A friendly and sociable opportunity to meet other like-minded photographers

In the morning, Noel will give a tour of his exhibition Union, followed by a presentation on his professional practice and Q&A discussion. In the afternoon, we’ll have lunch at The Bradford Club, described as ‘a beautiful, exquisitely furnished Victorian club where the movers and shakers of Bradfordʼs business world have met for more than a century’ (Telegraph & Argus).

You’ll then have the chance to share an existing project with Noel and Impressions’ curatorial team: Anne McNeill (Director), Pippa Oldfield (Head of Programme), Angela Sheard (Exhibitions Coordinator), as well as the other participants. This is a friendly, supportive session with expert guidance to help move your practice forward.

This is a must-attend event for anyone seeking an insight into international photography and the creative and logistical skills needed to take your practice to the next level.
