Thunder and Shadows: Poetry workshop with Sarah Corbett

Saturday 3 November, 10.00am to 4.00pm

This creative writing workshop will explore and respond to Chloe Dewe Mathews’ exhibition In Search of Frankenstein. Through free and ekphrastic writing exercises we will dig deep into our darker powers and experiences to create new writing in poetry and prose, taking inspiration from Dewe Mathews’ work and Mary Shelley’s writing.

This workshop will be immersive and challenging and is suitable for participants with some previous writing experience.

Sarah Corbett’s fifth collection of poems, A Perfect Mirror (Pavilion Poetry/Liverpool University Press 2018) was published this spring to critical acclaim; her previous collections include the verse-novel And She Was (Pavilion Poetry 2015), and The Red Wardrobe (Seren 1998), which was shortlisted for the Forward and T.S. Eliot Prizes. Sarah teaches Creative Writing for Lancaster University.
