Written and directed by the king of B-movies, Roger Corman (The Little Shop of Horrors), Frankenstein Unbound is partly based on Brian W. Aldiss’s sci-fi novel of the same name. The film follows Dr. Joseph Buchanan (the late John Hurt), a scientist in the year 2031, who accidentally ends up in a snow-covered Switzerland in 1817. There he meets Mary Shelley, Victor Frankenstein, and their contemporaries as well as Frankenstein’s Monster…

Meet at Impressions Gallery at 6pm for a special after-hours tour of the exhibition In Seach of Frankenstein by Chloe Dewe Mathews, led by Impressions’ Head of Programme Pippa Oldfield. Drinks will be served.

We will then make our way across the road to Picturehouse Bradford, where the main feature will be preceded by the 3-minute film Meet the Artist by New Focus, Impressions Gallery’s young people’s collective. Meet the Artist has been made specially for the exhibition In Search of Frankenstein, and features artist Chloe Dewe Mathews talking about the inspiration for her work.
