Sat, 14th Mar, 2015

Support New Focus our young peoples project group to fund the production of Bradford Video Portraits.

Bradford Video Portraits
is a film being developed by New Focus, a group of young people from Bradford who work with the Gallery to develop projects that inspire and engage people across the city.

Visit their Kickstarter page here to find out how you can donate, and see the special rewards they are offering.

New Focus
are a diverse group with an interest in developing projects that connect photography and Bradford. Since New Focus began in 2012 they have produced four films, run a variety of events, and taken part in Changing Bradford a major exhibition and book.

This year New Focus want to create a 20 minute film called Bradford Video Portraits. They want to meet people from all over Bradford and hear funny stories and truthful accounts on what it means to live in Bradford today. The film hopes to capture the community spirit and life in Bradford in an honest yet witty style.

Bradford Video Portraits is inspired by the major exhibition extra {ordinary} Photographs of Britain by The Caravan Gallery. Made in hundreds of locations across the UK in the last 15 years, extra{ordinary} offers an insight into the reality and surreality of everyday life in 21st century Britain. The exhibition is currently touring across the UK and will be shown at Impressions Gallery from the 29 May to 29 August 2015.

If New Focus reach their funding target of £500 they have some really exciting plans for Bradford Video Portraits. The film will be shown in a variety of places across the city including Impressions Gallery, Bradford Big Screen, Fuse Art Space, and every day locations such as Oastler Market.

How you can help

You can make a difference by pledging from just £3.00 to help New Focus bring Bradford Video Portraits to life. Impressions Gallery have already donated £500 towards the project and the University of Bradford are providing professional film equipment to support the making of the film.
