Digitally interactive storytelling workshops for schools (KS1 to KS4)

Wed, 7th Sep, 2016

We are inviting schools to come and enjoy our new exhibition Planet Yorkshire by Peter Mitchell. For the past forty years Peter Mitchell has focussed his eye on Yorkshire capturing people and places, demolition and development. His photographs capture the imagination and spark memories of times gone by. Pupils can take part in exciting interactive workshop especially designed to develop their moral, social, spiritual and cultural development through discussions around the exhibition, practical workshops and teamwork. Workshops can be adapted to suit KS1 to KS4 and can help schools to achieve their Artsmark award.

Planet Me: Digitally interactive storytelling workshop KS1 to KS4
This digitally interactive storytelling workshop takes your pupils on a journey around our current exhibition Planet Yorkshire. Pupils will learn about the artist and the people and places in his work. Pupils will then be asked to think about what their planet would look like thinking about the people they know and the places they have been. Pupils will be given illustrations, speech bubbles, photographs and cut outs from magazines to create their Planet Me. Pupils will then work in groups using a digital camera and film editing software to learn how to bring their planet to life. Pupils work will be projected in the gallery at the end of the workshop, added to Impressions website and can be sent to teachers on request.
