Cockroach Diary & other stories at Krakow Photomonth

Sat, 1st May, 2010

Cockroach Diary & other stories by Anna Fox is being exhibited as part of Krakow Photomonth, which this year celebrates the best of British photography.

Recently nominated for the Deutsche Börse Photography Prize 2010, Cockroach Diary & other stories, initiated by Impressions Gallery and curated by Anne McNeill, will be shown throughout May 2010 at the Gallery of Contemporary Art Bunkier Sztuki.

The exhibition brings together works spanning twenty-five years that convey a compelling sense of both the ordinary and the bizarre in British life, and is the first survey show by Anna Fox, one of the most significant photographers to emerge from the new wave of British colour documentary of the 1980s.

Cockroach Diary & other stories
is one of 12 exhibitions showcasing British photography at Krakow Photomonth, with other artists including Mark Power, Tony Ray-Jones, and Jeremy Millar. Anna Fox's work is also featured in Facts of Life - British Photography 1974-1997, a large-scale show curated by Katy Barron, including the work of photographers such as Martin Parr, Chris Killip and Nick Waplington. As well as the focus on the best of British photography, the festival will also showcase emerging photographic talent from Poland and beyond.
