New for teachers in January 2011

Sat, 1st Jan, 2011

Make the most of a class trip into Bradford this January, explore the artwork on show in both Impressions Gallery and Bradford 1 Gallery and take part in a range of exciting activities.

Our shared building is an accessible venue for contemporary arts located in the heart of the city centre and during term-time we offer fun and engaging workshops, talks and activities each specifically tailored to the needs of your student group. The Look, Think, Talk and Do education programme encourages pupils to engage with the artwork in the gallery by using various learning styles and inspiring them to communicate their own ideas and create artwork to take back to school. From interactive gallery trails and storytelling to printing and illustration, we have a great offer and something for all your pupils to enjoy.

In Impressions Gallery pupils will explore the current exhibition Lost Languages and other voices by Joy Gregory, which is visually striking and explores themes of journeys, cultural difference, identity and storytelling. In Bradford 1 Gallery pupils will respond to etchings created by David Hockney in the exhibition Six Fairy Tales from the Brothers Grimm, which show his unique interpretation of six fairy tales written by the famous brothers Grimm, including Rapunzel andRumpelstilzchen.
