Half-Term Family Fun

Fri, 21st Oct, 2011

Pop in to Impressions Gallery during the October half-term break and enjoy free, fun activities for all the family.

Get hands on with creative activities on offer everyday in our bright and relaxed Studio space, with comfy sofas and a view over Centenary Square it’s a great spot to relax and watch the world go by. Our epic photographic exhibition Hidden by Red Saunders is also on show in Impressions Gallery recreating dramatic but overlooked events in history.

On Saturday 29 October from 12pm our neighbour Bradford 1 Gallery will also be joining in the fun in the Studio in celebration of the national Big Draw campaign. Be inspired by the Jeremy Deller Poking about exhibition in Bradford 1 Gallery and recreate some of the poses in the exhibition, dress up in period costume and have your portrait taken. No booking required, click here to read more.

If you’re up for some spine-tingling pre Halloween fun then why not play our interactive trail ‘The Monster’ also available all week in the Studio. Designed especially for families, this hands on adventure story leads you to spooky spots dotted nearby in the city centre. Listen to the story, collect your special treasure, then return to the Studio to unleash your own monster! ‘The Monster’ is part of wider adventure game The Visitor, created especially for the Ways of Looking photography festival by artists Invisible Flock.

If you’ve not caught the Ways of Looking festival yet then this week is a great chance to see all the exhibitions and art installed across the city before the festival ends on 30 October www.waysoflooking.org
