planning your visit: group visits

How to book

If you are taking part in a gallery-led workshop or activity you must book in advance. Please ensure you have the following details prepared:

•    Dates and times of your proposed visit.
•    The activity session you would like to book.
•    Your full address and contact telephone number.
•    Size and age of the group
•    Any special needs the group have
•    If you need a space for lunch and need to use our lockers

Where possible, please make your booking at least 3 weeks in advance of your visit. To do this please call our Learning Manager on 01274 737 843.

If you are booking onto one of our activites payment for the session should be made 2 weeks prior to your visit. Cheques should be made payable to 'Impressions Gallery'.

If you are making a self-led group visit we advise that you contact us beforehand so we can inform you if there are any other scheduled activites that may affect your visit.

Supervision

Gallery staff will lead booked activity sessions, but teachers, lecturers and group leaders are responsible for supervising their group at all times.

Please ensure you can meet the following adult to student ratios:

Age 6 – 11          1:5
Age 11 – 16        1:10
Age 16 – 18        1:20

Preliminary visits

It is advisable that you check the content of the gallery and exhibition is suitable for your group. To do this please call our Learning Coordinator on 01274 737843.

Booking confirmation for activities

You will receive confirmation of your visit 3 weeks prior to the date with an invoice for payment.

Payments should be received no later than 2 weeks prior to your visit.

If for any reason you have to cancel your visit, every effort will be made to re-arrange your visit for another time. Refunds will be considered in some circumstances.

Risk assessment

It is advisable to complete a risk assessment prior to your groups visit to the gallery.

Make a day of it

Across the road, the National Science and Media Museum has interactive displays of photography, film and television and an IMAX cinema, whilst the Alhambra Theatre has many performances throughout the year.
