Impressions Gallery, one of the UK’s leading independent contemporary photography galleries, is looking for self-published and / or handmade photobooks, and photography zines to sell at our Photobook Fair this October.
Last year we promoted many unique, self-published titles to over 500 visitors at our annual Photobook Fair. Due to the great feedback from visitors and self-publishers we are once again calling for books and zines to sell at this year’s event. This is a fantastic opportunity to promote your photobook to a wider audience.
The Photobook Fair will be held on Saturday 26 October 2019, 11.00am to 4.30pm and is a free event. There will be stalls with leading photographic publishers and booksellers, as well as a programme of talks and events throughout the day. The event will coincide with the premier and first major solo show of award-winning photographer Christopher Nunn.
How to apply
The application process is free.
You can apply to sell one title at the Photobook Fair. If successful your book or zine will be sold on a dedicated stall run by us.
To apply email either a full copy or some sample pages of your books in PDF or JPEG format to janehiley@impressions-gallery.com. This must include an image of the front cover.
Your email submission must include your name, address, telephone number, email address, retail cost and a brief description of your publication (100 words max).
Closing date for applications is midday on Thursday 19 September 2019.
Please note we cannot be responsible for returning physical copies of publications sent to Impressions Gallery as part of the application process, and cannot take responsibility for their loss or damage.
What’s next
We will notify you if your publication has been selected for sale by Thursday 26 September 2019.
Spaces are limited and the selection panel’s decision will be final. The selection panel is Jane Hiley, Bookshop Manager and Anne McNeill, Director, Impressions Gallery.
If your publication is selected to be sold at the Photobook Fair, you will only need to pay a one-off donation of £10. In return we will sell your book alongside our other submissions on your behalf. The gallery will take no other commission and all sales will go to you.
After the Photobook Fair, you will be responsible for collecting any unsold publications or covering return postage and packaging costs.
