Calling all teenagers in Bradford, are you passionate about the environment? Do you want to learn more about plastic pollution and ways we can reduce our use of plastic? Do you want to get your voice heard and share your opinions? Come and help our young people’s collective New Focus takeover the gallery on Saturday 27 July with a special event Teentastic We Hate Plastic.
Help us spread the message that 8 million tonnes of trash enter the oceans each year. Come to Impressions Gallery and enjoy a free exhibition Our Plastic Ocean, by award winning photographer Mandy Barker. Enjoy free refreshments, sit back and relax, or take part in a series of exciting events:
Journey through VR : 1.00pm to 5.00pm
Immerse yourself in the photographs of Mandy Barker through VR technology. Experience how plastic erodes and feel the reality of plastic pollution.
Be an artist for a day: 1.30pm to 3.30pm
What plastic do you have lying about at home? Be part of something bigger by contributing to a growing artwork. We are looking for colourful plastic objects that stand out and make you realise the excessive amount of plastic we use every day.
Have your say! 3pm to 3.30pm
Take the stage and share your thoughts or sit back and relax as others speak their mind for 3 minutes. Witness how like-minded people are troubled by the growing problem of plastic pollution, and how we can possibly come to a solution to reduce our plastic footprint.
If you are interested in taking part in the Have Your Say 3 minute talks, just get in touch by emailing newfocus@impressions-gallery.com or message us through social media.
