In the Gallery:
Thirteen by George Chakravarthi
In Thirteen, award-winning artist George Chakravarthi takes on the guise of 13 Shakespearean characters including Brutus, Lady Macbeth and Cleopatra, in a set of powerful self-portraits. These large scale, multi-layered, jewel-like images are mounted in lightboxes recalling stained glass, monuments and tombs.
Commissioned by the Royal Shakespeare Company, this is the first time Thirteen has be shown outside the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford-Upon-Avon.
