Film Screening at the National Media Museum
Screening on the day of the Scottish independence referendum, Local Hero is a much-loved film full of Caledonian magic. Oil company employee Mac MacIntyre is sent by his tycoon boss to a Scottish fishing village to try to buy the entire town and drill for oil. The townspeople are captivated by the idea of the money they could make, but things don’t go exactly as planned.

At 3pm there will be a short introduction to the exhibition and the opportunity to ask questions afterwards.
