A selection of work from Murray Ballard's The Prospect of Immortality will be shown at this year’s FORMAT International Photography Festival in the main exhibition Beyond Evidence at Quad Gallery.
Originally exhibited at Impressions Gallery in 2011, The Prospect of Immortality offers an amazing photographic insight into the practice of cryonics: the process of freezing a human body after death in the hope that scientific advances may one day bring it back to life.
Showing as part of Beyond Evidence, Ballard features alongside a wide range of fascinating international artists whose works interrogate the relationship between image and knowledge, including Larry Sultan & Mike Mandel, Andrea Botto, Natasha Caruana and Edmund Clark.
Beyond Evidence - An incomplete narratology of photographic truths runs from 13 March to 7 June 2015 at Quad Gallery, Derby.
