Passion by Maud Sulter
Maud Sulter (1960-2008) was an internationally-renowned artist and writer of Scottish and Ghanaian heritage whose dramatic and sensuous photographs decisively put Black women back in the centre of the frame.
Maud Sulter Passion is the first publication on this artist and writer. It brings together works from her major series: Zabat, Hysteria, Sphinx, Syrcas and Les Bijoux.
Many have not been seen since they were first exhibited in the 1980s and 1990s. This lavishly illustrated book illuminates the artist’s working methods and her approaches to different media from studio photography to photomontage.
