Talk: Near the Cross with Shaun Connell — Impressions Gallery

Join Shaun Connell as he takes us through the process of making his zine, Near the Cross.

Shaun will share the practical steps, creative decisions and challenges involved in self-producing a photo publication. Near the Cross was exhibited as part of Nationhood Memory and Hope, an exhibition of powerful and poignant photography celebrating the diversity of the UK today.

 

Shaun Connell is a Black British photographer from Bradford whose social documentary work explores the richness and resilience of Black British life. He is also the founder of The Black Gaze, a platform dedicated to championing Black photographers worldwide.

 

Saturday 4 October, 3.00am to 3.30pm, as part of our Photobook Fair programme of events.
