Made over a period of 6 years, Being Inbetween is a series of powerful photographic portraits of girls aged between ten and twelve, exploring the complex transition between childhood and young adulthood. With many portraits never-before exhibited, this is the most extensive exhibition of the series to date.

Meet the artist, enjoy a virtual tour of the exhibition, and see the premiere of the specially commissioned film Girl Power by New Focus, featuring three of the girls included in the exhibition.

There will also be a chance to hear from publisher Colin Wilkinson of Bluecoat Press, as we launch Carolyn’s new publication Being Inbetween, available to buy for special exhibition price of £24 for a limited time.

The film Girl Power is produced by New Focus, our young peoples collective, with thanks to Bradford Council, Bradford UNESCO City of Film and Bradford 2025 as part of their Make:Film programme.
