Mandy Barker’s work involving marine plastic debris has received global recognition. Barker was shortlisted for the Prix Pictet Award SPACE 2017, the world’s leading photography award for sustainability and is a recipient of the 2018 National Geographic Society Grant for Research and Exploration. She has recently returned from an expedition alongside a team of scientists to Henderson Island, a remote, uninhabited South Pacific island with the highest density of plastic pollution found anywhere in the world.

Barker’s work has been published in over 40 countries, with features in National Geographic, TIME Magazine, The Guardian, The Financial Times, Smithsonian, The New Scientist, The Explorer’s Journal, UNESCO, The British Journal of Photography, FOAM Magazine, GUP, and The RPS Journal.

 

This focused half-day event offers:

    • One paragraph on why you want to participate and how you’ll benefit

    • One paragraph on your work

    • 6 jpgs (max size each 2mb)

    The selection will be made by Impressions’ curatorial team, and applicants will be informed by 30 July. Please note that this decision will be final and we cannot enter into correspondence with applicants.
