
The WOW – Women of the World Festival is coming to Bradford and Impressions Gallery are joining the Weekend Takeover on Saturday 2 March.
WOW – Women of the World is a global movement celebrating women and girls and taking a frank look at the obstacles they face. WOW’s first Girls Festival is travelling across the UK visiting schools and communities on the new WOW Bus, delivering a range of workshops, activities and events. Come along to take part in creative activities, engage in inspiring conversation and make a pledge to ensure we’re striving for an equitable world.
Creative Club (Family Friendly)
11.00am to 3.30pm
Recommended age 5+
Creative Club – Join in the fun and be creative in our special WOW Girls Festival Creative Club, designed to empower girls and their families.
Play around to make your own 3D piece of art with visual artist Saba Rifat, who makes little paper sculptures inspired by shapes found in science and nature. Tell your story with our creative mini-making activities and be inspired with help from our friendly gallery team.
WOW Takeover Late
5.00pm to 7.00pm
For individuals aged 14+ who identify as female or non binary.
Enjoy an evening of community, connection and creativity and dip into a range of activities at this WOW Takeover Late event. Join artist Jean McEwan to make a zine that tells your story and explore what matters to you; express yourself by designing your tote bag with young people from Speakers Corner. Plus, gift and receive a flower to empower! Join poet Sharena Lee Satti and be inspired to contribute a stanza to a communal poem or write a poem to add to your zine, in Poems of Sisterhood.
Under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult.

Bradford’s WOW Girls Festival is a partnership between The WOW Foundation, Bradford Council and a range of local organisations. Through creative activities we will explore topics of gender equity, inspiring local women and non-binary people and the changes we’d like to make in our own communities.
