Saturday 27 July, 1pm to 5pm
Calling all teenagers in Bradford, are you passionate about the environment? Do you want to learn more about plastic pollution and ways we can reduce our use of plastic? Do you want to get your voice heard and share your opinions? Come and help our young people’s collective New Focus take over the gallery on with a special event, Teentastic We Hate Plastic.
Did you know 8 million tonnes of trash enter the oceans each year?
Help us spread the message! Come to Impressions Gallery and enjoy a free exhibition Our Plastic Ocean, by award-winning photographer Mandy Barker, and take part in a series of exciting events:
Journey through VR
1.00pm to 5.00pm
Immerse yourself in the photographs of Mandy Barker through VR technology. Experience how plastic erodes and feel the reality of plastic pollution.
Be an artist for a day and contribute to a growing artwork
1.30pm to 3.30pm
What plastic do you have lying about at home? Be part of something bigger by contributing to a growing artwork. We are looking for colourful plastic objects that stand out and make us think about the excessive amount of plastic we use every day.
Have your say!
3.30pm to 4.00pm
Take the stage and share your thoughts or listen as others speak their mind for 3 minutes. Find out how like-minded people are troubled by the growing problem of plastic pollution, and how we can possibly come to a solution to reduce our plastic footprint.
If you are interested in taking part in the Have Your Say 3 minute talks, find out more here.
And in between all these events, enjoy some free refreshments and sit back and relax while taking it all in.
