
Celebrate our 10th annual Photobook Fair with a focus on independent, non-mainstream, grassroots and self-published photobooks and zines.
As well as book stalls to enjoy, events will run throughout the day including talks, workshops, advice sessions, book launches, networking over drinks, and more. And back by popular demand, our tombola with lots of photo goodies to be won!
You will also be able to visit our new exhibition which celebrates the work of Café Royal Books, an independent publisher dedicated to post-war photography from Britain with a particular interest in unseen or overlooked work.

Not to be missed, our talk with publisher Craig Atkinson. Published weekly in an accessible and affordable zine format, Café Royal Books have a broad appeal for their photographic and historic interest, charting a fascinating route through British social history.
Daniel Meadows will be joining us for a special event where he will share stories of his illustrious photography career and introduce us to his many publications, with a chance for you to ask questions.
Photographer Diane Bielik will be sharing tops tips for how to self-publish your own photobook and artist Anuhuya Saxena will share their exploration of the British South Asian experience, expressing the isolation and disconnection that can come with having a dual identity, and the celebration of South Asian culture and heritage
Make your own photo zine with The Photocopy Club with photos from your mobile phone. Drop in at their publisher stall, pay as you feel (suggested £5), takes around 15 minutes to create.
At the end of the Photobook Fair come along to our party to celebrate the exhibition Café Royal Books and reflect on the day’s talks and events.

Select your photos from your mobile phone and make your own zine while you wait with The Photocopy Club using their Xerox machine.
£5 per zine, takes approx 15 minutes to create.

Find out some top tips and the process that led to making Diane Bielik’s first self-published book.
Hear about the ins and outs of the making, the sequencing process, design and layouts, making book dummies, using text, finding money, self-publishing, launching it, selling it and getting it out in the world.

Talk: Daniel Meadows

One not to miss! Fifty years ago, pioneering documentary photographer Daniel Meadows set off from Impressions Gallery's former home in York on a 14 month tour of the UK on his Free Photographic Omnibus. This event is a very special opportunity to hear Daniel talk about his lifetime's work recording British society.
