The Photobook Club Collective — Impressions Gallery
Hear from five members of The Photobook Club Collective, a photographic collective of 80 photographers whose members are completely engaged and united in the process of publishing, self-publishing and crowdfunding their publications.
  • Louise Taylor, based in County Durham and a founding member of Wideyed will introduce Agri[Culture], a self-published collective project that celebrates the culture of agricultural shows in the North Pennines
  • ‘Don’t Tell Me How to Run My Art School’, by John Walmsley & Claire Grey, follows the student sit-in at Guildford School of Art in 1968, from the inside, as it became the longest ever at a UK educational institution and changed the way art schools are run.
  • Soulla Petrou brings together the best visual moments from her first 15 years working in the music industry to create ‘Rewind – Journey of a Music Photographer’ which features rare photographs of icons and pioneers of the 90s and 00s music scene.
  • Tessa Bunney will talk about The Flower Fields which was commissioned by and published in collaboration with NEPN (North East Photography Network). She worked with commercial flower growers around Spalding in Lincolnshire, one of the UK’s major cut flower growing regions, to explore how technology is changing how we grow flowers in this country.
  • Marc Wilson, achieves a haunting, even lyrical beauty without ever straying into sentimentality or the emotional exploitation of a notoriously difficult and challenging subject matter.

Free, booking recommended and donations welcome via Art Tickets, or call the gallery on 01274 737843.
