Our annual Photobook Fair returns with book stalls to enjoy, and a programme of events including talks, book launches, and fun workshops.
As always we will be spotlighting independent, non-mainstream, grassroots and self-published photobooks and zines by photographers and artists.
Back by popular demand we will have our fabulous tombola with lots of photo goodies to be won throughout the day.
Photobook Fair programme features…
Featuring Archiving to Remember, a workshop on how to care for your personal and family archives by Cassia Clarke and Clare Hewitt’s talk about Everything in the forest is the forest biodegradable photobook and how it travelled far and wide throughout the UK this summer. Clare will share lessons learnt from the ‘borrow and share’ scheme.
Cassia Clarke will also be sharing her debut publication Preserving the Familial Archive offering practical, sustainable, and cost-effective strategies for preserving printed photographic archives in your home. Covering everything from fact-finding, handling, packaging, storage, making tough choices, and the emotional complexities of preservation. Clarke will share personal anecdotes from her own preservation journey, making the process both relatable and insightful.,
We’re excited to bring back our pop-up thrift stall, where you’ll find an eclectic mix of second hand photobooks and other photo-related delights.
At the end of the Photobook Fair come along to our Photo Connect Social to reflect on the day’s talks and events and an opportunity to find out more about Photo Connect: Championing photography in the North of England.
