The Bigger Picture: The Work of Impressions Gallery
£7.50 £5.00
Since 1972 Impressions Gallery has helped change the face of photography in the UK. The Bigger Picture tells the story of its past, present and future; championing photography in Britain and beyond.
This full colour publication celebrates the many achievements in Impressions forty plus year history. It traces the gallery’s origins; from a room above a shop in York in 1972, through to its current location in Bradford. The book pays tribute to Impressions’ founding directors Val Williams and Andrew Sproxton, and highlights the many artists and photographers we have worked with over the years.
Co-edited by Impressions Director Anne McNeill and Head of Programme Pippa Oldfield and featuring a full colour portfolio of exhibitions shown since 2003, along with fold out infographics presenting the facts and figures of our history, The Bigger Picture gives a crucial insight who Impressions are, what we do, and our role in over 40 years of British photography.
