Join us in the gallery for a scanathon event as part of the Bringing the Beat Back to Bradford project.
Originally built in 1930 the magnificent building previously known as the Bradford Odeon (Gaumont and New Victoria) is being restored to its former glory as an entertainment hub for the city. Ahead of the building’s reopening, Impressions is working with local people to produce Bringing the Beat Back to Bradford, a new crowd-sourced exhibition that will shine a light on the vibrant history of this much loved building and the people who have used it.
The scanathon events are an opportunity to bring your items and memories to be digitised, through high resolution scanning and/or photography, and added to the growing community archive. Staff will be on hand to audio record verbal stories, so if you don’t have a physical item but have a vibrant memory of an event then please do join us. These events will also be a great opportunity to find out more about the project.
Free event, all welcome, drop in.
Bringing the Beat Back to Bradford is part of a programme of heritage activity commissioned by Bradford Live, and funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
